Ayming’s redesign of the IT procurement strategy and operating model for a global Services business identified multi-million savings across six territories.
The context
A provider of integrated services to the public and private sectors was seeking to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its IT procurement. Ayming was commissioned to design a new strategy and IT procurement organisation across six regions.
In addition, to conduct a holistic diagnostic to identify improvement opportunities and develop procurement strategies for all key IT spend categories such as IT services, software, network & telecoms, data centres and office services.
Our contribution/mission
The Ayming team was able to hit the ground running and rapidly structured the engagement in two key workstreams:
- Organisation design and process improvement
- Identifications of cost optimisation opportunities and development of category strategies
We engaged with multiple stakeholders across the different business lines and geographies to ensure that all key requirements were incorporated into the to-be state and the different category recommendations.
The results obtained
Our collaborative approach and the business case we developed helped secure strong executive sponsorship for the new IT procurement operating model.
We identified multi-million savings, and implemented KPI tracking mechanisms to measure performance across the whole function.
